Various versions of this Amazon scam involve impostors posing as Amazon and posting fake job ads on legit sites like Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and LinkedIn. If a recruiter claims to be from Amazon, double-check their email address to ensure it’s genuinely from Amazon. Look up the recruiter’s LinkedIn profile too. Legit companies and recruiters won’t contact you via text or messaging apps like Telegram or WhatsApp. And they certainly won’t use free email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail.
Be cautious when using career sites that let you upload your resume. Scammers might see your contact info and send a fake job offer. My advice is to always apply directly on the hiring company’s website. That way, you know you’re dealing with a real job listing.
Keep tabs on your job applications by noting the date, company, and position you applied for. This way, when a job offer comes your way, you can check your records to confirm you applied for the job.
